PBS News Weekly: A deeper look at women’s reproductive health in post-Roe America | Aug. 8, 2025
Episode details
Episode description
Three years after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. opening the door for state bans on abortion among other reproductive policy changes, PBS News Weekly looks into how and where, the anti-abortion rights movement is focusing its efforts. This comes as earlier this year, the Trump administration scrubbed CDC guidance on birth control from government websites and froze $65 million in funding to family planning clinics that provide free or low-cost contraception. Despite the president’s campaign statements that he does not support a ban on birth control, the moves are seen as part of a growing effort to restrict access to certain forms of birth control and to curtail reproductive rights.
