Episode details
Episode description
Trump's first impeachment - 2020 Speaking on Feb. 5, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt. explained his reasoning for voting later in the day to convict President Donald Trump of two articles of impeachment, rejecting Republicans’ arguments that a president should not be removed from office in an election year. “Today is not about policy matters. It is about the integrity of our elections,” Leahy said. After the Senate voted last week to bar new witness testimony and subpoenas for documents, Trump’s acquittal has seemed all but assured. The House of Representatives impeached Trump in December on the two articles of impeachment--abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
