WATCH: Rep. Lofgren: Trump used Giuliani to seek election interference | Trump impeachment trial
Episode details
Episode description
Trump's first impeachment - 2020 Rep. Zoe Lofgren, a House manager, argued during the Senate impeachment trial that President Donald Trump used Rudy Giuliani, his personal attorney, to try to get Ukraine to investigate his political rivals. Democrats have sought to connect Trump to Giuliani’s actions while Republicans have argued there is no indication that Giuliani was working at the behest of the president. House managers have been allowed 24 hours over the course of three days to present their case. The White House will then make its defense. The House of Representatives impeached the president in December on two articles — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The trial will determine whether Trump is convicted of those charges and removed from office, or acquitted.
