WATCH: Rep. Garcia: Trump is ‘wrong’ that witnesses are ‘Never Trumpers’ | Trump impeachment trial
Episode details
Episode description
Trump's first impeachment - 2020 Rep. Sylvia Garcia, D-Texas, said that President Donald Trump’s suggestion that witnesses who testified in the impeachment inquiry as “Never Trumpers” is “just flat wrong.” “That couldn’t be further from the truth,” she said. These “officials are brave public servants. It’s wrong … to suggest that we’re doing anything other than testifying out of a sense of duty.” The White House will give its defense after the House managers have been allowed 24 hours over the course of three days to present their case. The House of Representatives impeached the president in December on two articles -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The trial will determine whether Trump is convicted of those charges and removed from office, or acquitted.
