WATCH: Rep. Demings: ‘Ukraine’s national security is our national security’- First impeachment
Episode details
Episode description
Trump's first impeachment - 2020 Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., said President Donald Trump’s hold on Ukraine aid jeopardized the U.S.’ national security “because Ukraine’s national security is our national security.” “How? Because a free and Democratic Ukraine is a shield against Russian aggression in Europe,” she said. “That has been one of America’s most important foreign policy and national security goals since World War II.” The White House will give its defense after the House managers have been allowed 24 hours over the course of three days to present their case. The House of Representatives impeached the president in December on two articles -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The trial will determine whether Trump is convicted of those charges and removed from office, or acquitted.
