Trump's first impeachment - 2020 Rep. Jerry Nadler, the House Judiciary Committee chair, opened the markup of the articles of impeachment on Dec. 11, making the case for impeachment against President Donald Trump. “If our elections are corrupt, everything is corrupt,” Nadler said during his opening statement. The markup comes after public impeachment hearings by both the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees. “We have never, in the history of our nation, see a president categorically defy Congress in this manner,” Nadler said.
