Lightspeed Venture Partners combines technology commentary with conversations about the companies being built around it. AI agents, robotics, healthcare and creator tools recur in the selection. The perspective often shifts from a new technical development to a founder's explanation of a business, creating a connection between industry news and the problems a particular product is meant to address.
Lightwork episodes bring several stories into one discussion, from model behaviour and agent security to corporate deals and creative software. An episode about an open source security layer for agents makes protection and control the focus, while a Pocket FM feature turns to the technology supporting audio drama creators. These topics show the range between the systems underneath an application and the people using it to produce something.
Healthcare forms another clear strand. Will Johnson discusses how Gyde uses AI in the work of health insurance brokers, and Venture Doctors introduces conversations at the intersection of medicine, technology and venture capital. A founder's experience of entering government brings institutional change into that picture. More personal material, including a reflection on parenthood and company building, sits alongside the product and investment themes.
The channel is suited to viewers interested in how founders describe a market and how investors discuss new technologies around it. A builder may find a useful comparison in the account of an industry-specific workflow, while someone following the wider sector can use the news discussions to identify questions worth exploring. The material is especially relevant where software meets an established field with its own working practices. Across the different formats, the emphasis falls on what a technical change could enable and how a company proposes to turn that possibility into a service.

Reflection co-founder Misha Laskin sits down with Claire Zau in Washington, D.C. to explain why AI labs need a presence in policy conversations and where the open weights debate stands right now. Misha compares closed and open models to renting and owning a home, and says companies that started by renting intelligence are now moving toward ownership. He describes a shift on AI gateways over the past six months from roughly 70 percent closed tokens to a majority of open ones.
They also cover some of Misha’s arguments: why China's labs have led on open models, why AI startups want control over cost, compute and data, and why that open source is the safer way to deploy AI. He makes the case through the history of strong encryption and Linus's law, and through the recent incident involving OpenAI and Hugging Face.
