Johnny Harris moves between explanations of public affairs and reflections on making things. Geography, democracy, money and military power appear alongside videos about creative work and digital tools. The channel's scope is therefore both outward-looking and personal: some episodes try to make a large system understandable, while others turn towards the experience of producing work or navigating a crowded information environment.
An explanation of extreme places offers a geographical route into that wider curiosity. A video about how money works approaches another system that shapes daily life, while coverage of the American war machine brings institutions and power into focus. The questions are broad, but each supplies a distinct starting point for viewers who want more context around a subject they may usually encounter as a headline.
The creative strand changes the scale of the conversation. Episodes about pushing Google Docs to its limits and finding calm through making things place tools, process and attention closer to the centre. Comments on Meta glasses and a journey with @drewbinsky add technology and travel to the mix. These pieces suggest a channel in which the person making the explanations is also willing to examine their own habits and interests.
Viewers who enjoy moving between world events and the process of understanding them can find several routes into the material. The explanatory episodes suit a curiosity about the structures behind familiar news subjects, while the personal pieces offer a different pace and perspective. What connects the selection is an interest in making sense of complicated surroundings, whether the immediate topic is a political institution, a physical place or the experience of trying to create something within it.

From the deserts of Saudi Arabia to the ice sheets of Greenland, I've been lucky enough to be able to travel all round the globe to tell stories. These are five of my favorites from through the years.
The best part of this is that I'm able to share the tales of some amazing humans with you - to help you understand the biggest issues facing the world right now.
I've been working on my new show, The Human Element, for all of this year - and I can't wait for you all to see that as well.
