I Went to Ukraine. It Changed My Mind.

We travelled to Kyiv to ask one big question: can Ukraine really join the European Union? On the ground, we saw what life looks like during wartime, from air-raid alerts and damaged schools to people trying to carry on as normal. We also spoke to Ukrainians about EU membership, corruption reforms, defence innovation and the country’s rapidly changing economy and institutions. And after seeing all of this firsthand, my own view of Ukraine, and what it could bring to Europe, changed quite a lot. So is Ukraine ready for the EU, and can Europe afford to leave it outside? This video was produced with financial support from the European Union. The views and opinions expressed are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the official position of the European Union.
